Are my glasses suitable for restoration?

We only polish plastic (acetate) frames. Most are suitable and come up almost as good as new. Some older frames can be brittle; breakages are rare (twice in six years). We confirm suitability from your photos before you book.

Will polishing remove white marks and discolouration?

Usually, yes. Whitening and surface discolouration on acetate can often be fully removed. Deep gouges or colour fading may improve but might not disappear completely.

How will you look after my designer glasses and lenses?

We dismantle the frame, remove lenses and badges, deep-clean ultrasonically, then hand-polish, heat-set and reassemble. There is always a small restoration risk, but we take utmost care and regularly restore luxury frames.

What does the £60 polish include?

Professional wheel polish with ultra-fine finish, hinge tighten, and a full clean (including ultrasonic). A Peep cleaning cloth made from recycled plastic bottles is included.

Can you polish sunglasses too?

Yes, if the frame is plastic (acetate). We polish the frame, not the lenses.

How long will I be without my glasses?

Allow around one week. It can be longer in busy periods as we are a small team. Please use a spare pair while we work on your frame.

Can I have Next Day Delivery?

We can return-ship with a Next Day service once polishing is complete, but the workshop turnaround remains about one week. Shipping speed does not shorten the polishing time.

How do I get my glasses to you safely?

Package your frame well (go lightly on plastic tape) and use a tracked postal or courier service. We return using Royal Mail Tracked 48 by default, or Next Day on request.

Can you fix metal damage, broken hinges, or cracks?

Those are repairs rather than polishing. For metal work, soldering, or broken parts, please use our glasses repair service.

Will polishing change the colour or finish?

Polishing restores sheen and we can also provide a matte/satin finish on request. Colour does not change, though very deep colour wear may still show.

Can you finish my frame in matte?

Yes. Request a matte/satin finish when you send photos and we will prepare the frame accordingly so it does not end up glossy.

Can I add new lenses at the same time?

Yes. Add non-prescription clear lenses or ask about prescription options and we will fit them after polishing.

What can polishing not fix?

Polishing will not repair cracks, snapped parts, deep structural scratches, peeling lens coatings, or severe colour loss. We will advise alternatives if results are unlikely to meet expectations.

Prepping - frame dismantled, lenses and badges removed.

Cleansing - deep cleaning with our ultra sonic cleaner ‘Bubbles’ to remove dirt and bacteria.

Polishing - frames are hand polished on our polishing wheel to remove blemishes, followed by an ultrafine finishing polish to restore sheen.

Finishing - re-assembled, heat treated and reshaped, hinges oiled and tightened.

Returning with a new lease of life and a complimentary peep glasses cleaning cloth made from recycled plastic bottles.

Currently we can only polish plastic (acetate) glasses + sunglasses frames.

There is always a risk that your frame has turned brittle with age and there’s a small risk of breaking. It’s a rare occurrence and most frames are fine for this service.
