Restore Your Glasses Frames

Peep Polish

Scuffed plastic frames? We restore the lustre for £75
White marks, dullness and light scratches on acetate can often be polished out. We hand-finish on a professional wheel, then clean and re-shape so your frames feel great again. Send photos first so we can confirm they’re suitable.

Metal damage or hinges broken? See our repairs page instead.

polishing Process

Prepping - frame dismantled, lenses and badges removed.

Cleansing - deep cleaning with our ultra sonic cleaner ‘Bubbles’ to remove dirt and bacteria.

Polishing - frames are hand polished on our polishing wheel to remove blemishes, followed by an ultrafine finishing polish to restore sheen.

Finishing - re-assembled, heat treated and reshaped, hinges oiled and tightened.

Returning with a new lease of life and a complimentary peep glasses cleaning cloth made from recycled plastic bottles.

We currently polish plastic (acetate) spectacle and sunglass frames only.

As with any restoration work, there is always a small risk that older frames may have become brittle over time, which can increase the chance of damage during polishing. This is rare, and the vast majority of frames are absolutely fine for the service.

It’s also important to note that some frame logos or branding are surface-applied rather than engraved or inlaid. In these cases, it may not always be possible to polish around the logo, particularly when oxidation or heavy wear needs to be removed. This doesn’t happen in every case, but sometimes the branding can be affected, and it isn’t always possible to predict until the work is underway.

Because every frame is different, we always ask that you send us a photo first so we can check suitability and flag any obvious risks before you send anything in.
