FL-41 Light Sensitivity & Migraine Glasses
Explore FL-41 for light sensitivity, photophobia and light-related sensory overload — including discomfort from screens, glare, fluorescent lights and harsh indoor lighting. You don’t need migraines to take part.
If you’re autistic, have ADHD or are otherwise neurodivergent, and light feels uncomfortable or overwhelming, this programme is for you too. Sensory experiences vary: the aim is to explore what supports your comfort and preferences.
Normally FL-41 lenses start from £70. Through Peep’s Community Feedback Programme, standard FL-41 single vision lenses are included with any Peep frame (from £30), or fitted into your own frame for £30.
Optional upgrades such as thinner lenses, premium coatings, light-reactive lenses and varifocals are available at additional cost. You keep your glasses. In return, we’ll send you short feedback check-ins at 1, 3, 6 & 12 months. Your experience matters whether you notice improvement, little change or difficulties with your setup.

What are FL-41 glasses?
FL-41 is a specialist rose-tinted lens that filters parts of the visible light spectrum, including blue-green light. Some people find it makes uncomfortable lighting feel less harsh.
People explore FL-41 for light sensitivity, photophobia, screens, glare, indoor lighting and migraine-related light discomfort. Some also explore it for the light component of sensory overload.
FL-41 is not a cure or a replacement for medical care. Individual experiences vary, and it does not address every cause of light sensitivity.

You don’t need to identify with a particular diagnosis to ask about the options. What feels difficult, what already helps and how you want to use the glasses are useful starting points.
Sensory overload can involve light, sound, movement, crowds and other inputs together. Lenses may help with the light component; environmental adjustments and other support may still be important.
Try frames at home before ordering your lenses
An optician’s practice can feel overwhelming if you experience sensory overload, with bright lighting, background noise and the pressure of making a decision.
With Peep’s Home Try-On, you can try frames in familiar surroundings before ordering your FL-41 lenses. Take time to check how they feel, try them on different days and choose at your own pace.
Once you’ve chosen your frame, order your FL-41 lenses through the programme.
Home Try-On helps you explore frame fit and comfort. It does not test the effect of finished FL-41 lenses. To explore the tint itself, you can order a separate FL-41 lens sample .

Protecting your FL-41 glasses
If your FL-41 glasses become an important pair for work, screens or everyday lighting, replacing them after loss or damage can matter.
Peep Protect+ is an optional membership you can explore alongside your glasses. See the current plan information for replacement contributions, benefits, eligibility, waiting periods and exclusions.
Protect+ is not required to join the Community Feedback Programme.
Research snapshot
- Childhood migraine: a small study investigated rose-tinted glasses compared with blue-tinted glasses in children with migraine.
- Blepharospasm: research reported improvements in light sensitivity, some everyday activities and blink measures with FL-41 compared with other tints.
- Chronic ocular pain and photophobia: a study investigated light-evoked discomfort and changes in brain activity with FL-41.
These studies concern particular light-sensitive groups. They do not establish that everyone will benefit, or provide direct proof of effectiveness for autism, ADHD or sensory overload.

Can I join if I don’t have migraines?
Yes. You can join if you are exploring FL-41 for light sensitivity, photophobia, screen discomfort, harsh indoor lighting or light-related sensory overload. You don’t need migraines to take part. Individual experiences vary, and improvement is not guaranteed.
Can neurodivergent people explore FL-41 for sensory overload?
Yes. Some autistic people, people with ADHD and other neurodivergent people explore FL-41 when light, glare or screens feel uncomfortable or overwhelming. Sensory experiences vary, and the aim is to support your comfort and preferences. Lenses may help with the light component of sensory overload; they do not address every sensory input or change someone’s neurotype.
Do I have to join the programme?
No. You can order FL-41 lenses directly at standard pricing, starting from £70 plus any chosen coatings or upgrades. Joining the Community Feedback Programme is optional. It offers programme pricing in return for taking part in short feedback check-ins.
Is this a clinical trial?
No. This is a community feedback programme, not a clinical trial. We collect customer-reported experiences of using FL-41 in everyday life. The programme does not diagnose a condition, replace medical care or guarantee a benefit.
Do I keep the glasses?
Yes. The glasses are yours to keep; they are not a loan and do not need to be returned at the end of the programme.
What does it cost?
CFP pricing: standard FL-41 single vision lenses are included with any Peep frame, or fitted into your own frame for £30. The Peep frame is purchased separately. Optional upgrades such as premium coatings, thinner lenses, light-reactive lenses and varifocals are charged at the upgrade cost.
Standard pricing without CFP: FL-41 lenses start from £70 plus any chosen upgrades.
How do I give feedback?
We’ll email short forms at 1, 3, 6 and 12 months. By joining, you agree to take part in these feedback check-ins. Honest feedback matters whether you notice improvement, little change or difficulties with your setup. You can withdraw from the programme; contact us if you need help with the forms or want to stop receiving check-ins.
How is my feedback used?
Peep uses your responses to understand people’s experiences with FL-41 in everyday life. Responses are handled in line with our privacy policy. If we share feedback publicly, it will be anonymised unless we’ve asked your permission first.
Can I use my own frame?
Yes, provided it is suitable for glazing. Programme fitting with standard FL-41 single vision lenses is £30, with optional upgrades charged separately. We’ll assess the frame on arrival. Order first, then complete the Frame Check-In form before sending your frame. If you are unsure whether it is suitable, email us photographs before ordering.
Can I try frames at home before ordering FL-41 lenses?
Yes. Peep’s Home Try-On lets you try frames in familiar surroundings before ordering your FL-41 lenses. Take time to check the fit and how they feel, then choose your frame and order the lenses. This may be helpful if bright lighting, noise or decision pressure in an optician’s practice feels overwhelming. Home Try-On checks frame comfort, not the effect of finished FL-41 lenses.
Can I try the FL-41 tint before ordering a full pair?
You can order a separate FL-41 lens sample to explore the tint before committing to a full pair. A sample can help you consider colour and light comfort, but it does not reproduce the complete experience of fitted glasses with your prescription and chosen frame.
Do I need a prescription?
No. FL-41 is available with non-prescription lenses. If you need a prescription, single vision and varifocal options are available. Choose whether you need prescription or non-prescription lenses when you continue to the tint and prescription form.
What coatings are available?
Everyday anti-reflect is +£20. Easy Life anti-reflect with a 2-year scratch guarantee is +£40. Thinner lenses require at least Everyday coating.
Can I get FL-41 lenses as varifocals?
Yes. Typical CFP varifocal lens prices, before thinning or light-reactive upgrades, are: Everyday £100 with a Peep frame or £130 in your own frame; Natural £140 or £170; Natural Luxe £180 or £210. The Peep frame is purchased separately. Check your selected product options for the final price.
Do FL-41 lenses come in different thicknesses?
The listed lens options are standard 1.5, 1.6 (+£40), 1.67 (+£80) and 1.74 (+£120), subject to availability for your chosen lens design. Thinner lenses require at least Everyday coating. The appropriate index depends on your prescription and frame; a thinner lens is not automatically necessary.
Are light-reactive FL-41 lenses available?
Yes. Light Reactive is available as a +£40 upgrade for compatible lens options. It allows the lenses to darken further outdoors. Peep’s setup guide does not recommend adding it to 80% FL-41 because the permanent tint is already very dark.
Which FL-41 tint strength should I choose?
Peep offers 25%, 40%, 60% and 80% FL-41. The choice depends on your light comfort, what you already wear and where you plan to use the glasses. Darker is not automatically better. Our setup guide suggests a starting point, and you can ask for help if you are unsure.
What’s included when I buy from Peep?
Your chosen FL-41 lenses are glazed into your frame, with quality checks and aftercare. Through the programme, you keep your glasses and receive feedback check-ins at 1, 3, 6 and 12 months.
Do FL-41 lenses come with a guarantee?
Easy Life coating includes a 2-year scratch guarantee, subject to its terms. Standard aftercare applies to all lenses. A product guarantee does not mean that FL-41 will improve everyone’s light sensitivity or symptoms.

Choose your lens options, then click Continue to tint & prescription to select your FL-41 tint depth and whether you need prescription or non-prescription lenses. Complete the form and checkout. If you are using your own frame, complete Frame Check-In after ordering and before sending it. If you want to try Peep frames at home, do that before ordering your lenses.
What the options mean
- Lens Type — Single Vision (standard or non-prescription) or Varifocal (distance + near in one lens).
- Coatings — Everyday (anti-glare + scratch-resistant) or Easy Life (easy-clean + 2-year scratch guarantee).
- Lens Thinning — Slimmer, lighter lenses. Only needed for stronger prescriptions.
- Light Reactive — “Transitions” style. Clear indoors, darken outdoors like sunglasses.
