What’s included
- Lens inspection for chips, edge integrity and coating condition
- Sizing + best-match frame guidance (shape and eye size matters)
- Cutting/edging (where safe) and careful refitting into the chosen frame
- Final alignment and comfort adjustments
Compatibility notes
- Best results when the new frame’s eye size, bridge and shape closely match your current lenses.
- Some lenses aren’t suitable (heavily chipped, very small/old, cracked, extreme wrap/high-curve, or badly crazed coatings).
- Rimless/supra (nylon cord) fits require correct drilling/grooving positions; we’ll confirm viability first.
How it works
- Order the fitting service to receive your order number.
- Complete the Frame Check-In Form (include photos and any preferred frame styles).
- Post your lenses + old frame (and any candidate new frame) with your name + order number in the parcel.
Fit your own lenses – FAQs
Can you fit my lenses into any new frame?
Not any frame — we need a very similar eye size/shape and bridge to keep optics and fit correct. We’ll advise best-match options after sizing.
Will my lenses be trimmed or re-edged?
Sometimes, yes — a small amount of edging may be needed to suit the new frame. If that would compromise the lens (too small/weak edge), we’ll advise before proceeding.
How do I know if my lenses are reusable?
If the lenses are heavily chipped, cracked, very old/brittle, or have severe coating damage, reuse may not be safe. We inspect first and confirm what’s realistic.
Will you damage my lenses during the refit?
We work carefully and won’t force a lens into an unsuitable frame. If the risk is too high (brittle lenses, weak edges, poor match), we’ll stop and advise options before proceeding.
What if reuse isn’t possible?
We’ll recommend alternatives — typically reglazing with new lenses in your chosen frame — and we won’t proceed without your approval.
Do I need to send the old frame as well as the lenses?
Yes, ideally. The old frame helps with sizing, shape matching, and checking how the lenses were originally mounted.
