Hinge repair – FAQs

Is it better to repair one hinge or both?

If only one side is damaged, one-side repair is usually fine. If both hinges are loose/worn, doing both can restore symmetry and extend life — choose “both sides” at checkout.

Can a snapped hinge be repaired or does it need replacing?

We’ll repair or replace depending on the break and parts available. If a like-for-like replacement isn’t possible, we’ll fit a compatible hinge or recommend Replacement Sides.

What if the hinge screw keeps coming loose?

We inspect threads and hinge barrels and can re-seat/re-tap where needed. If the screw shank is stuck or broken, we may recommend Custom Screw.

Will the arm sit straight after repair?

Yes — alignment is included. We straighten/true the arms and set opening tension.
