What is oxidation on glasses?
Oxidation is surface corrosion on metal frames, often appearing as green, white, or dark residue around joints, pads, or hinges. It’s common with age, sweat, and skin contact.
Does ultrasonic cleaning remove oxidation?
No — ultrasonic cleaning removes dirt and oils. Oxidation requires a separate manual treatment, which is why it’s offered as a distinct option.
Is oxidation removal cosmetic or structural?
It’s primarily cosmetic and preventative. It improves comfort and slows further corrosion, but it doesn’t repair metal loss or structural damage.
Will this make my glasses look new?
It restores cleanliness and removes corrosion, but it won’t remove scratches or repaint frames. For that, see paint touch-up or polishing services.
